Drunkness and "Being Present"

Hi. There are times when I use to drink, get a little drunk and become very aware to the environment, and see small details that I would normally not see when being completely sober. How does drinking shift your focus from disociated to associated, if you are most of time disociated? I know that being drunk inhibits some brain centers that deal with reality, but what would be an NLP view here?
